Founded by Janina Peter and Malish James, Bridging Gaps introduced a pay-it-forward community microloan model to address food security and poverty among refugees. By merging charity and microfinance, we empower entrepreneurs and create sustainable financial structures. Our digital platform secures donations from Europe and the global north, transforming them into microloans that ripple through the community. Unlike traditional repayable microloans, our model is based on a pay-it-forward approach. As businesses thrive, loans are passed on to new entrepreneurs in the same community, creating a sustainable ripple effect of new initiatives and, long-term, new independent financial structures. Donors receive continuous updates on the impactful stories of the entrepreneurs they support through our digital platform, fostering a sense of connection and engagement with the community. This innovative approach not only addresses immediate needs but also promotes lasting, self-sustaining initiatives. We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as a PR Manager. This role provides a unique opportunity to significantly contribute to our mission while developing your professional skills in public relations, media outreach, and strategic communication.
Responsibilities:

Research and identify key journalists, bloggers, and media outlets that align with Bridging Gaps‘ mission and goals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with media professionals to secure coverage and enhance our organization’s visibility.
Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, media kits, and other PR materials to effectively communicate our message.
Monitor media coverage and report on the effectiveness of PR campaigns.
Coordinate and manage media inquiries and interview requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
Collaborate with the marketing team to align PR strategies with overall communication goals.
Assist in organizing and promoting events to maximize media coverage and public engagement.

Requirements:

Proven experience in public relations, communications, or a related field.
Strong research skills and the ability to identify relevant media contacts.
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with journalists and media outlets.
High level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Familiarity with press release formats and media outreach strategies.
Prior experience working in an international environment, demonstrating adaptability and cultural sensitivity.
High level of integrity and dependability.
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capacity to convey ideas clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
Proficiency in German is a plus.
