REPORTS TO: CEO LOCATION: FLEXIBLE / REMOTE WORKING COMMITMENT: FULL TIME POSITION WITH TRAVEL AS REQUIRED Simris Biologics is a Berlin-based biologics company working to identify high value, natural, biologically active compounds found in microalgae and cyanobacteria for applications across biopharmaceutical products, skincare, nutrition and industry. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Simris Group AB, a company listed on the Swedish Nasdaq First North Growth Market. Simris Biologics holds what we believe to be the largest library of cyanobacteria in the world, with 1,200 producer strains. We have already identified more than 5,000 novel natural products which show a range of activities eg. anti-cancer, anti-infectives and anti-fungal. The business is currently focused on three operational areas: 1. The identification and optimisation of cyanobacterial compounds to be licensed as novel payloads in Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADCs) – the next generation of targeted cancer therapeutics in precision medicines. 2. The manufacture and sale of cyanobacterial bio-reagents and analytical cyanotoxin standards to laboratories (global) tasked with monitoring public bodies of water for the presence of cyanobacterial toxins. 3. Paid collaborative research with industrial partners to discover and develop novel active natural compounds for use in medicines, cosmetics, foods, agriculture and more. Simris Biologics has developed a patent protected ADC Payload Platform which is a breakthrough in the Biopharma Industry, and is currently working to build a number of co-development strategic partner relationships culminating in securing a cooperation- and/or option- and licence agreement with a BioPharma Company in the next 6-9 months. Tasks THE ROLE This is a new role, for a Business Development Executive to lead the commercial development and revenue growth of the company. Simris seeks to attract an experienced Business Development Executive eager to work in an early-stage startup environment, creating, build and leading our revenue growth opportunities in all three focus areas. Specifically, the right person will be confident that they can deliver deals & licensing opportunities with biopharma drug developers around the world. As the Business Development Executive, you will build and manage customer relationships with a commercial, revenue-driven objective. This role is best filled by a highly-motivated, ethical individual. Working closely alongside Simris CEO and CSO, you will drive new business opportunities and partnerships to commercialisation and revenue generation. This is clearly a customer-facing role, best suited to an ambitious early/mid-career biopharma business development professional looking to broaden their experiences and continue their successful existing track record of negotiating and securing licence agreements, collaborations and partnerships in biopharma. This role has a particular focus on developing appropriate strategies to support the fast-tracking of compounds through discovery and development, ultimately becoming pre-clinical candidates with new partnerships and collaborators. This Executive will be part of the Leadership Team and have an active influence on research strategies as well as shaping the Company for its next phase of growth. This Executive will need to be confident as an advocate expressing the external communications of Simris‘ expertise in natural product chemistry, micro- and molecular biology, using proprietary in-vivo and in-vitro platforms for lead optimizations. They will also need to be confident using other modern tools ranging from molecular networks and different click-chemistries to CRISPR-Cas based genetic engineering for the development of products with applications across cosmetic through to payloads for antibody drug conjugates. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Working closely with the CEO, you will be responsible for researching prospective customers, mapping relevant target companies /customers /potential partners. Reviewing competitors, analysing market trends, and driving marketing activities.
Generate quantified leads from contacts as well as personal prospecting efforts (emails, cold calling, networking /social outreach e.g. LinkedIn and live events etc).
Be the first point of contact for all inbound leads, answering technical questions, developing and understanding the customer/partner business objectives, scientific application, and pipeline needs.
Meet and exceed mutually-agreed monthly lead generation targets.
Develop a strong understanding of Simris‘ unique platform technology, our data and the potential applications and key selling USP points, becoming fluent in communicating the relative platform technology to potential partners.
Assist in pipeline management/project management, tracking prospects, following up on leads, and ensuring timely progression through each stage of negotiation, collaboration and partnership.
Provide accurate timelines and regular monthly reports for the Simris Board on key activities, new initiatives, performance milestone updates, and identification of new commercial targets.
Attend selected external events including conferences or summits as the public scientific ambassador of the company. This may include presenting the company’s scientific endeavours as required.
Communicate and present complex scientific data in easily understood content to interested parties.
Be a deep thinker, with a creative approach to problem solving.
Identification of new partners and drive business development collaboration and license agreements to revenue generation.
Project Manage the interactions with external biotech and contract research organisations (CROs), engage with the external research environment, and establish collaborations consistent with Simris‘ internal strategies.
Lead negotiations with collaboration partners, ensuring that the scientific programme and revenue generated is competitive and appropriate.
Contribute to investor relations as the Scientific Ambassador of the company.
Help to create and build a KOL network and Scientific Advisory Board to support Simris Biologics programmes.
Work closely with other members of the Simris Team to develop sales collateral based on applications and industries.
Requirements EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD or MSc in Life Sciences with 8+ years of molecular/cell biology, or a related field, but with significant industrial commercial experience gained working in the drug discovery or drug development space, in a leadership role.

Ideally has experience within several of the following fields: bio-conjugation chemistry, ADCs, bio actives, oncology, monoclonal antibody development, drug discovery, lead optimization, preclinical development.
Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Results-orientated mindset with a proven ability to „walk the walk“.
Analytical and creative thinker, able to interpret data and create fresh scenarios for better decision making.
Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Collaborative team player who drives effective solutions for the Company.
Demonstrated work experience in drug discovery as evidenced by cross-functional collaboration, preferably from taking key entities into IND studies and or clinical development.
Proven track record of delivering key milestones and strong evidence of experience developing and implementing research collaborations and partnerships leading to licence agreements.
Demonstrated experience interfacing with, and providing scientific guidance to, CRO partners and collaborative partners.
Keen attention to detail with an ability to work in a flexible, agile, accountable manner.
Fluency in German is desirable but not essential.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
