Alpenventures UNGUIDED is seeking a responsible and reliable outdoor enthusiast, with strong communication skills to join our team. We are an Adventure Travel company, offering self-guided multi-day adventures, such as hut to hut hikes and bicycle tours. This is a home office position, with flexible hours and location independency.
As a small and young company, Alpenventures UNGUIDED is currently looking for a team member to work with our service providers, many of which are mountain huts, regarding payments for our customers who are on tour. This includes a combination of communicating with our service providers regarding payment arrangements and processing payments via the service providers’ preferred payment method. Since the mountain huts don’t always have a dedicated team for administrative tasks, this does require flexibility, communication, and an open mind. This is an entrepreneurial environment, and the ideal candidate is energized by the opportunity to shape processes and strategies alongside the leadership.

Responsibilities:

Communicate with service providers via phone and email to confirm balances owed for upcoming customer reservations and to remind them of payment arrangements, if already made. If payment arrangements are not made with the service provider, then establish payment arrangements
Accurately process payments to service providers in a timely manner via bank transfer, Paypal and credit card, depending on service provider’s preference
Accurately process general invoice payments in a timely manner
Document payments and collect and save receipts for payments according to guidelines
Assist with additional finance and bookkeeping duties as assigned
Collaborate with the internal team to resolve any payment discrepancies

Fluent in English and conversational in German

Utilize translation tools to understand and communicate with service providers in multiple languages
Competent with Microsoft Excel and with Microsoft Outlook
Work in multiple currencies
Tech savvy with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to various applications and online platforms
Ability to prioritize diverse tasks and meet deadlines
Positive attitude and a collaborative team-player mentality

Required Experience and Qualifications:

At least 2 years working in a business environment completing administrative tasks
High school diploma or equivalent
Strongly preferred: Experience staying at mountain huts in the Alps
Passing a background check is required for this position

Duration of Employment: June 1st to September 30th, 2024
Working Location: This is a Home Office position. The candidate must be available for 2 weeks of in-person training in Germany at the beginning of employment.
Salary: Between 1.160€ and 1.450€ per month (4.640€ – 5.800€ for the duration of the contract) gross pay, dependent on experience, based on a 20-hour work week
